Hi,

I contacted the CSA 3 or 4 weeks back to make a claim for my daughter. I split with her father 2 years ago, before she was born and since then i've heard nothing from him and only have a limited amount of information about where he might be. I was contacted by the csa by phone who told me "we are not a tracing agency" and that basically i had a week to give them more information or they would close the case but they did have one more "search" they could try. I couldn't find out anything in that time and they have not called back. Will they write to tell me that the case is closed as my application was at an early stage or will they just close it and not bother? I'm not a very confident person dealing with big companies like this over the phone and the way the lady was speaking to me it has put me off calling them back. If anyone else has gone through this or has any idea of csa procedure i'd really appreciate some information. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikivorce

The CSA should contact you by letter to update you on your case.

If you arent confident about dealing with them yourself on the phone, then you can ask a trusted friend/family member to call on your behalf, or ask someone from your local CAB to act as your advocate, and they will contact the CSA for you.
