Hi Can anyone help me? On form D8A ( Statement of Arrangements for Children)If you have reached an agreement on child maintenance, is there a specific paragraph that should be used,ie I agree to pay £x on a monthly basis. There are two children involved should it state when it ends eg Age 18 and what the maintenance reduces to for one child? or does the finer details get agreed in another document. Many Thanks Confused

Hiya GABOL,

I'm not an expert, but its my understanding this is just to show the Judge that Child Maintenance and Contact are agreed or not agreed at this stage of the divorce.

You just need to state at this stage that yes, CM is being paid.

Children and Finances are separate to the Divorce itself (the ending of the marriage) and is dealt with separately.

If you can agree between yourselves - great - although it may be wise to get your agreements drawn up into an order (to make it official)

Take care

WR

Hi Gabol. Like WR I am no expert but from what I was told about the Form it is just to show the judge that arrangements are in place,it is not legally binding and can be changed at any time. There were a couple of discrepancies on my ex's form but these apparently can be looked into more later. Hope this helps x
