Hi all... Im new to this so please forgive me if anythign is wrong!!

I split with my partner of 6 years in March. Since then things have been up and down with his involvement in our daughters life. At first she didnt want to go with him at all, but now stops tehre twice a week. he hasnt been paying any child support as he says he can't afford it. However he has been abroad 3 times this year, and recently booked another holiday abroad for next year... But he still insists he can't pay for her. This latest act has finally tipped me over the edge, and i've emailed the CSA today.. Is it a long process?

He is also now threatening me with joint custody, solicitors etc etc. i dont know where i stand with that. but wha ti do know is the 2 nights a week he has her, he basically only has to for her to go to bed. he doesnt do her ea, he doesnt bath her, he doesnt do her breakfast (she goes to school bfast club), he doesnt do her packed lunches for school (his mum, who has to pick our daughter up from his new gf in the morning does all this).. Im at a complete loss as to where i really stand. Not sure CSA is the correct category for this. Sorry if not! xx

if he's on PAYE and isn't self employed, it's a relatively simple process but can take a few months if he doesn't want to co-operate. If you're lucky, you might start receiving payments in the new year....don't let it fester - phone them every couple of weeks for an update. It will stop your case just sitting there.

The rest of it is more than likely hot air and not worth worrying about unless it happens. For what it's worth, you will be seen by the courts as her primary carer and providing she is happy enough and doing well enough with you, it's unlikely changes to her residence would be made. Worst that could happen is he gets a defined Contact Order or Shared Residence Order (not the same as sharing care 50/50) to beat you around the head with but you'll get used to that....!
