Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I have a basic salary of £57k but with a seperate car allowance paid by salary of £6k pa.

For the purposes of the Child support arrangements do I declare my total income inlcuding the car allowance or is it reasonable to exclude the car allowance as it goes on a car for company use?

Thanks in advance

Mr JaB

Hi
I assume that your company give you the option of either a company car or a cash car allowance added to your pay.
If you are taking the cash then that will ultimatly push up your net pay and hence what the CSA would expect you to contribute, that is my understanding anyway.

Justabloke.

Actually lostboy is not completely correct in his answer.

If you pay tax on your car allowance then its classed as income so has to be included in CSA calculation.

However if all (or part) of it is not taxed then it is classed as an 'allowance'' and the non taxed part isnt classed as income so isnt included in the calculation.
