I have rang the Csa countless times inthe last couple of months. For last last 2 months I have received £2.25 in total per month. I have rang for updates on my case as my ex has repeatedly failed to hand over his financial information. He is self employed so they have now approached the HMRC.

How long will it take to get this all sorted. I am struggling to keep my head above water and just view £2.25 as an insult. We have 2 kids and I just feel like he has been allowed to continue with his life while I take all the responsibility. I work full time, I always have done I just see it as unfair and at the same time he turns up for contact when he feels like it and hurls abuse at me.

I just need to get that off my chest. Thanks for reading. :) x

UGH - I hate to tell you but a friend of mine is still waiting 2 years later. She has received a total of about £200 in 2 years! He is assessed at owing 000''s.

He too is self employed - the CSA have now been to court, he has been visited by bailiffs but keeps putting private money into his very successful business and in his partners name .... Last time he turned up for contact he drove up in a brand new BMW X5 ...

Self employed people are the hardest to get at because you can''t do an attachment of earnings easily.

My/her advice would be to keep up the pressure on the CSA. She left it for a couple of months once and clearly the file hadn''t been opened in that time at all.

Good luck.

The only advice I can give is ring the CSA virtually on a daily basis, keep the pressure up, otherwise you think something is happening but you have just slipped down the to the bottom of the pile.

My sons are now 19 and 21 years old. My ex was also self-employed. He is still paying CSA, paltry sums, to clear thousands of pounds of debt. I quickly learned to just carry on and not expect or rely on money from him - far less stressful, too!

In my experience the CSA have been inept. It seems as though he can say anything to them and they take it at face value.

I will probably have grandchildren before the debt is paid off!

Anjh77, good luck!!

I ring the csa every week to update my case, but as ex is director of his own company have virtually been told no chance. Know how you feel, they carry on as if nothing has happened, devoid of all responsibility, but still cause trouble over contact.

My son will have his own kids before I see a penny!!

Fingers crossed for you :S
