Hi, hope someone might be able to help or at least offer some advice.

I pay my ex double what the CSA calculator says I should based on my earnings which is fine by me as it is what we agreed when we split and it is to make sure that the kids can still have the level of comfort they had when we were together.

Unfortunately my ex is now upset that I have a new job that pays more and thinks that she should get more even tho she is now co-habiting with someone else and the money I pay is twice what the CSA says I should.

I have done and redone the calculator online and keep conming up with the same amount that it says I should pay - does anyone have any experience of how accurate that is or if it was taken to a court that even more was ordered to be paid etc.

Needless to say this is causing huge stress and I just want to understand what others have been thru.

Thanks in advance

I think it pretty accurate.

Do you have a Consent Order? If yes continue to pay the amount agreed.

A court wouldnt expect you to pay more than the csa amount and would only be interested if you didn''t pay the court ordered amount.

Hi and thanks for your note.

One of hte issues is that although the divorce has gone thru, we have still not agreed the consent order - in a big part due to her wanting to try and get more from me.
We do have a statement of agreement in which was done as part of the divorce process and that lists what I have agreed to pay, but no lodged consent order yet - do you think that could cause an issue?

Just ring up the CSA and check your using the correct figures. Once you are sure you are paying over the odds tell you stbx to go to CSA.

My partner ex was convinced that my partner was not paying the right amount. He used the csa calculator and it was the correct figure.

Hi

I''m William the child maintenance Options consultant. You can use the Child Maintenance Options calculator to get an idea of how much maintenance maybe payable through the Child Support Agency (CSA). The figure for child maintenance that our calculator provides is only an indication. The figure may be different from the final figure the CSA would calculate. For an accurate calculation you may wish to contact the CSA directly. For more information about how the CSA work out child maintenance and for their contact details, visit www.gov.uk/child-support-agency.

There is a web application available at www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Sorting-Out-Separation.html, that you may find useful as it offers help and support to separating families.

For more information about maintenance and access to useful tools and forms online you can visit www.cmoptions.org, or if you''d prefer a confidential chat you could call the Child Maintenance Options team on 0800 988 0988 (free from a landline).
