Hi,

I don't really know where to start. I broke up with my partner 6 months ago and I have a new partner which I'm getting married with in 3 months time and she's expecting a baby. From the previous relationship I have 3 children(aged 1,4,5). I'm paying about 140 pounds a week for the 3 of them. I'm self-employed but business is going down the drain and I'm strugling. If I stay i'll have to go to the social welfare. My intentions are to return to Portugal and start my life there. But earnings in Portugal are lower than here. Minimum wage is about 480 euro per month. What should I do. My life is rapidly deteriorating, I'm renting a room. I really want to do the right thing here but I'm so confused. Please help me

In these sad situations mate people losing their homesdepression, being propelled into financial hardship, ending up on the streets, in a bedsit....all too common.Keep focused if you can amidst your hard times. There will be many ups and downs.
At the end of the day you can only do what you can...you are just one man....not an island!
Talk to your prtners about it...your ex probably wont believe you though....not even when you are on the strreet and so despersta...no,you will be told you are just doing that to avoid paying money. My advice mate just do what you can...and then sometimes you have to accept what is not in your control and let go.God grant me the courage to know the things I can change ....and the wisdom to know the things I cannot....that by know means is giving up .....take stock and recuperate.!
Wish you well mate!

Hi,

thanks for the advice mate. I need to know if I go to Portugal and get a job there let say getting 600 euro a month and currently I'm paying 600 euro pf maintenence how am I meant to start a life that way. Cost of leaving is cheaper in Portugal but there is less disposal income available too. Can anyone give me advice on that or maybe been or seen a case like mine.
