Breakdown of Court Fees

I''ve recently received notice form the court that, as respondent in an UB divorce, I have been ordered to pay half of the costs. I did agree that I would pay "half of reasonable costs" and I have since received a letter from her solicitor, telling me how many phone calls and letters were written. I find the cost to be quite high (I have to pay £800).

I''m not sure, should I request a full break down from her solicitor of what the costs were for? Do I have to pay for everything, including letters they wrote to me? I was also personally served the papers so have to pay half of that, which I don''t agree with as I didn''t receive anything from the court in the post before that. Can I dispute anything at this stage?

If you have been ordered to pay then you must pay, the fact you were served explains the cost, it could have been much worse being the respondent who was served you could expect to pay the lot £1600 and that`s on the low side if service was deemed, pay it and count your lucky stars.

Yep, I have to agree that the costs are distinctly average. I have a schedule in front of me now where a process server was used - the costs are £1693.00 all in.
