Hi - I hope someone can give me some advise. Before we separated we jointly agreed to have double glazing installed - and at the time I had no idea things were going to become so nasty. In the meantime the double glazing has been installed and the contractor is now chasing me for payment (£4k) which I don't have. The invoice is to both of us. I have arranged for the money to come out of our mortgage (as per original plan) - but this needs two signatories - mine and stbx. He is refusing to sign it - so it can't be paid.

I have tried to explain this to the contractor but have been met with a threat they will come and remove the windows if they are not paid - week before last I wrote to his sol and asked what should be done - but have not received a response as yet.

What on earth should I do? Can they really just come and remove the windows? Help.

Thanks
