Hi
What a great forum this is.
Currently booked into court to arrange settlement.
I am not looking for half of marital assets, in fact it is more 30% which would enable me to buy a house for myself and children, Clean Break, no maintenance, no claim on his pension.
My solicitor spent months writing to him, suggesting x amount, but he is offering a pittance more 20%.
My question is why is his solicitor not telling him that it's a fab deal for him? Surely, this going to court exercise, is going to make him have to pay more to me?

Hi,
It is possible that his solicitor is telling him that it is a good offer. There is no real way to tell what advice his solicitor has given him, he may have been told he can 'get away' with 20% or he may have been told to take what was on offer, but ignored the advice.

Yes, I am guessing he is ignoring the advice. I asked my solicitor why his never or rarely responds. She said in her experience his solicitors are always very quick and efficient.....so it must be him!
