PIPCAT,

There are 2 distinct aspects to the divorce:

1) The divorce itself (dissolution of marriage).

Online divorces (including Wiki's) are suitable for most people as long as both parties have agreed to proceed with the divorce and you can agree on a ground to use (e.g. unreasonable behaviour).

Wiki cost £249
Typical solicitor cost around £800ish

2) Ancillary Relief (the financial settlement)

This is the part that can cost BIG BUCKS.

IF you can reach a totally amicable agreement on this aspect then you can use the Wiki Consent Order service for £149.

IF as is very common - there is a dispute over how to split the assets and what maintenance should be payable, then you have to look at other options:
- solicitors and court
- solicitors and mediation
- just mediation
- collaborative solicitors

So, people using the Wiki online service have been able to because they have been able to agree things with their ex.
