Hi,

I was hoping to use the surgery this evening for some help with case law. Does anyone know of any case law for long cohabitation resulting in marriage, although the marriage was relatively short?

Thank you in advance.

The authority on pre-marriage cohabitation is CO v CO (Ancillary Relief: Pre-Marriage Cohabitation) [2004] EWHC 287 (Fam). Cohabitation before marriage, Mr Justice Coleridge said, cannot be ignored in assessing ‘all the other circumstances of the case’ (see section 25(1) of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973) and in seeking to achieve ‘fairness’ between the parties.
