I am trying to help my daughter who is studying abroad. Following domestic violence her husband has recently completed a prison sentence abroad and has returned to UK (he was there as a spouse on her student visa). Daughter continuing studies. Is answer (a) to Q3 on form D8correct and does she show details of the recent prosecution of her husband in Q9. Also does she have to sign an original copy of D8?
Any help would be much appreciated

Hi.
You dont say what country your daughter is in so it is impossible to even guess what she should be applying for.
Divorce laws vary, from country to country -Even between England & Scotland. You cannot apply for a divorce on her behalf, She must do it herself.

Hi,
My daughter is in USA and local state law is such that although she satisfies residence conditions, her husband, having returned to the UK does not, thus the divorce must be in UK. She can complete all the forms herself and post them to UK but I have been asked by her to make sure that she knows how to answer questions correctly to avoid delay.
