Up until this morning, my stbx and I were (99% of the time) civil to one another as we try to get ourselves out of our house on onto our new lives.

Glitch this morning, as I'm trying to sort things out with council tax. I told him yesterday that I was advised to pay for the month of December, even though we've moving out mid-month, then provide them with our new addresses so they can set up our new accounts and then split the 'credit' and apply it to our new accounts. Sorry, more info than anyone probably needs!

So this morning I sat down to write the letter and asked him for his new address. he told me he can't give it to me because 'Frances will kill him if he does!' What?? He doesn't even live with her yet?! Sounds like a discussion for another part of this forum.

But that does bring up my next question. If I don't know where he lives and his family won't tell me, how do I serve papers on him? Aside from the extra cost (that I'd try to get him to pay), I'd love to have a bailiff serve him at the hospital where he works, but don't know that such a thing is possible. So, how do I serve papers on him if I don't have an address for him??

Divorce papers may be served at work.

Soon, now, I'm going to get the energy to do just a little bit more research before I ask questions...

Thanks Fiona, just one more for clarification. I assume, then, that when I fill out the Petition, I just use his work address and they'll be served by post there?
