Hi, Is it ok to ditch the services of a solicitor mid way through Ancillary Relief process? I simply cannot afford the extortionate fees which my solicitor is demanding to continue with the case. These fees are wholey down to the fact that my ex husband has not responded to questions posed against his form E submission and not responded to a court order which was set at the prelimary hearing where he was requested to obtain valuations of all properties owned. I dont know what else I can do apart from go alone on the case as the costs which my solicitor is demanding payment of before he will progress any further I simply cannot afford. If it is possible to ditch my solicitor what do I have to do next?

Tell your solicitor they are ditched and that you want your final bill and file.

Write to other side and tell them to send all correspondance to you directly as you are self repping.

Write to court manager and tell them the same.

Thank you for that info. Anybody got advice or experience in what I should do with regards to my exs non compliance? plus do you think I could ask for costs as part of the settlement even though I havent previously mentioned this. Just makes my blood boil that it simply unfair that he is allowed to not comply and nothing happen and it not cost him anything.
