Hi all,

I filed papers based on 2 yr sep about a month ago, with no response as yet. Since my stbx and I have no common assets or really anything of value, I crossed out all of the Ancillary Relief section in the prayer, as none of it seemed to apply to us.

I've since heard about getting a consent/Clean Break order to prevent any future monetary problems. When must I apply for this, and is it too late? Is it worth it? I feel this may be important as he has threatened to sue for money he believes I owe him.

Xx

If you are doing this alone you should never cross out prayer.

Its not too late for a Consent Order in fact it never is, for your peace of mind you need to have all future claims dismissed including inheritance, the last thing you want is for your ex to make a claim 5 years down the line when your circumstances could well have improved.

Wiki offer a consent order service for £139, and that money pays for a solicitor to complete the order ending all claims once and for all.

There is a helpline number at the top of the page if you have questions about the service, plus its free from a land line.
