As our money is extremely tight is there any place we can get a template and/or generic example of a Separation Agreement. We do want to spend money on a sloicitor wrting it all upi but hope to save costs if we write one and they tidy it up. If there is no free one what is the cheapest way to get one. We are really rying to have as amicable spearation/ divorce as possible keeping costs low so we can both make a fresh start.

Thanks so much :)

I can see your point fully about being amicable and fair and trying to save costs and I wont knock that. I will however give you a slight warning. Unless your case involves 2 year separation and your 2 years is not up there will have to be a blame element in the divorce. That can cause friction. Secondly if you wait the two years either of your circumstances could change substantially. Mine have dramatically in the current economic situation and although I have a separation agreement it is not rattified by a court and therefore i will have to reconsider either mediation or similar to get this amended. A point worth mentioning is assets are valued at time of divorce not separation. If you do the lottery do it in someone elses name !!! Maybe Amanda or Fiona could clarify points stated. Take care Polar
