:) Hi, i'm new to this site, and am about to start my DIY divorce. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has filed the petition whilst overseas and if you came up against any problems to do with domicile etc?
Also, i know i'm getting ahead of myself, if my ex doesn't respond to my petition, will a county bailiff serve the divorce papers abroad? How could i get around that?
And on the petition, under 'Occupation' what would you put if you are off work due to a serious injury to your arm?

Any advice or guidance would be very much appreciated as I'm new to this, and shall we say pretty clueless!

I haven't filed a divorce petition from overseas but when my father died I had great difficulty proving he wasn't domiciled in the UK despite the fact he hadn't lived here for 35 years. Eventually a receipt for his burial plot purchased in advance swung it.

You'd need a foreign service processor to service papers abroad.

If you are off work just put in your usual occupation.

Thank you for the Advice Fiona!
Also does anyone know whether a 'Clean Break order' should be mentioned in part of the prayer? My husband and i don't have any assets to share but I would just like to watch my back for the future. Would it be best for me to see a solicitor concerning this, or could i also DIY it?
