My husband started our DIY divorce a year ago (or so he thought) on grounds of AD. In August, when I thought it was a bit odd nothing had happened, I rang the County Court and our case hadn’t even been logged. So, finding out he hadn’t paid the fee or sent our marriage certificate with the divorce forms I started the ball rolling again and got him to re-send everything properly if this divorce was actually what he wanted. So he did.

A couple of weeks ago (Nov) the DJ refused our Nisi saying there had been insufficient evidence from the co-respondent and that my husband needed to re-apply. Husband then contacted the County Court asking what he should do and the Courts said it would be just as easy to take off the co-R name and send an amended petition. So this is what he has done. We have ensured that the amendments are underlined in red and have written amended petition at the top in red.

The Courts will received these tomorrow and tell me that within 5 days of receipt they will hand them straight to the DJ dealing with our case.

I am paranoid now that there will be another issue. I cannot get my head around the fact that the DJ who clearly had a Co-R name in the first petition will now approve a Decree Nisi for an amended petition which now says the Co-R is unknown??? Is this really going to go through or have chances of the Nisi been scuppered by the fact my husband named the Co-R in the original petition??

Just want to put my mind at rest and get a move on with life :(
