My husband and I will have been separated for 2 years in July 2009. Does anyone know how far in advance of that I can apply for a divorce on separation grounds? Just wondered if I can get the ball rolling in advance of that date?

Hello

Sorry you need to wait for two years then make the application, the application cannot be made before the event

You can apply sooner for unreasonable behavior. My hubby and I agreed to make something up.

Suzy, whereabouts in the UK are you? There are differences between England & Wales and Scotland.

Hi Fiona

I'm in Cheltenham so I think from what I've read, unless we go for unreasonable behaviour (which I don;t really want to do), we need to wait for 2 years. It looks like I can't get any of the paperwork started before then either.
