Hi
I got divorced 2 years ago and did it myself using the court service website. We didn't have much money and i thought it would be cheaper. I didn't apply for ancillary relief, we just agreed to split everything 50:50. If we instructed lawyers ex-h would have got nasty, but as it was it was relatively easy for me and the kids.
However, I have heard that as I didn't have an ancillary agreement he can come after me forever, if he went bankrupt or if i got re-married. Does anyone know if that is true?
If it is true is it too late now to ask for an agreement?
thanks
Tiggy

Thanks Amanda
For the fast response. Is there an agreement that can be printed off this site, or should i go to a solicitor?
If I do go, would we have to go through all our finances, or is it generally a simple thing if we agree?
Do we have to go to court?
thanks
Tiggy

Hi

If you can agree, you can buy an online Consent Order package (Wiki sells one, as do other sites).

If you cant, it is a full financial disclosure job and yes, likely to be court.
