My husband and i are getting on, sooo far even though where splitting.

He got assets of around £200,000 and its all tide up in property, he worked hard for it and i don t want to take this away from him.

At the same time i have give him as much as i can afford towards the marridge. Carpets, paints, half of holidays away, food, heating, tv, money if he needed things and £3000 when we got married. I gave him everything i have.

Hes done everything to keep my financess and his seperate, and show no record of my controbutions. I don t want to take his money, but i would like him to care enough to allow me and my daughter from a previouse relationship, the chance to start again with a bit of support from himt o do that.

He says he ll LEND me £40000 pounds which i must pay back. Is this fair?

I feel i should get something back, should nt i? He walks away with everything? He should want to see me and his step daugher ok... I don t know, don t want to do the wrong thing.

The length of your marriage is relevant as are your ages and respective earnings capacity. The age of your daughter is also relevant as she is a 'child of the family'.

Lending money on the basis that it should be paid back is unreasonable - you should be seeking a lump sum payment which is yours to keep.

Post more information and we will try to assist.
