Medical Insurance

My divorce settlement states that my husband provides medical insurance for me for the next two years through his present employer. Before the divorce proceeding his HR department spoke to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield rep about the judgement. The rep told the HR department that a court ordered judgement to provide insurance for a divorced spouse was all they would need.
On the day of the divorce, Blue Cross/Blue Shield dropped me from my ex-husband''s policy. I have been without insurance for two months. Blue Cross/ Blue Shield is saying the rep was mis-informed and gave out wrong info. My ex-husband''s employer is trying to get me re-instated. Luckily I am a healthy person. Should I wait it out or seek legal action?

To be honest this is a very US-focused question that most of us here will be very poorly equipped to answer. Because we have the National Health Service, medical insurance here is a luxury, not a necessity. These dilemmas therefore rarely occur in the UK.

Personally, from what I know of the American scene, I wouldn''t wait it out. You may be healthy, but you could still have an accident while it is being sorted out.
