is my partner entitled to half my property

hi everyone,
my partner has recently moved in with me and i would like to know if we split would she have any claim on my property. she currently gives me cash in hand each month towards the upkeep of the house but the mortgage and all the bills are paid from my bank account. .

thanks Mez but as the saying goes, you dont really know a person until you live with them!..things are starting to go pear shaped with the relationship so i need to cover all bases.

My son took a young lady out a couple of times about eighteen months ago. She had three children around the same age as his own children.

One evening she turned up with her daughter and an overnight bag asking if she could stay a few nights.

He said it wouldn''t be possible as his children were due to stay the following night. It put him right off, particularly as she had been telling him how best he could extend his house to make more room.
