My husband and I began mediation soon after our separation but he continued to play games. I instructed a solicitor to help and after several months we tried again. My husband said he did not want to be in the same room as me anymore, he is hurting....he wanted shuttle mediation I agreed as a last resort preferring to be in same room if possible. Have now received a voicemail from mediator saying mediation is not possible anymore as my husband has ''other requirements'' so mediation is unsuitable. What does this now mean for me? My husband is in Oz for a month. divorce petition is at Decree Nisi stage. He is challenging the grounds not the divorce. When will this all end?

I see you haven''t had a reply so I;ll try.

If mediation breaks down then your only option is to use the Court route and apply for a financial order. And if I were you, I wouldn''t waste time negotiation with someone who has shown he will not negotiate.

Trying to alter the grounds or to defend the Petition is an exercise in futility.
