I am currently separated from my husband (as of three weeks ago) although living in the same house still as we are joint mortgage holders.

Things are quite amicable so far, marriage came to the end of the road so to speak so although it was a shock to me I realize it had to happen :( .

We have been talking of keeping things as friendly and clean as possible, so the only assets that we would have to split would be as follows.

House
Savings (we just remortgaged so he has the remainder in his savings account)
Joint savings account
Car
Pensions, both his and mine.

We have no children and are both working however I only work part time so my salary is only £12600 PA, he is earning £37500 PA.

I have agreed 50/50 house equity and 50/50 savings account split. Won't touch the car or his pension and he won't touch mine although mine is less.

I suppose my anxiety is that I will have to rent privately where I live (South East) as I won't be able to claim housing benefit or get back on the housing list as I will have some money from the house sale.

In this town that will swallow up most of my monthly wage.

Next step would be to get another job or second one. I suppose I am just not sure how this will work out.

Any ideas?

Thanks
