I am going on holiday and have arranged a pet sitter to come into the house to look after my pet. The person is known to us as I have worked with them for 2 years.

My ex-husband is not currently living in the house but still owns half of it until it is sold.

Can my ex-husband refuse to let the pet sitter stay in the house?

Although he is a joint owner - he is not currently residing in the property and so you should be OK. Has he been informed of the plan? He could in practice refuse or state that he is not happy with the arrangement - but I would hope this would not become a point about which you would argue/fight as there are far more important long term issues to resolve such as the future split of property and pensions.
