Hi, im new to here but i have been separate for 3 years!! To begin with it was quite easy as it was my decision but then as the years have went by its got harder!!! And no its nothing to do with wanting my ex back, its because he is an alcoholic and we have shared custody of our two children. After i left him he turned to alcohol and there was no way back for him or if there is he hasnt found it!! I have been getting on with my life - working 2 days a week when the kids are with their dad, but now its leading to me having to pack my job in as my eldest isnt willing to stay with his dad anymore. Its got to the stage that i cant cope with the stress of working, 2 kids, stopping smoking and putting up with my ex-alchy all at the same time!!!! Im so scared that my flat is going to get taken away from me as i cant pay the rent, my gas and electric is away to get cut off cause the amount of money im having to pay out for my rent i cant afford to pay any other bills!!! The way i feel i cant see any way out
Nice to meet you all
:)

I cant afford a divorce and the way he is going he will make me a widow first!! My own dad was an alcoholic so the the problem isnt new i just wish it would go away!!
As for help, well im confused!!! There is pay offs coming up at my work, i dont want to leave but as i have to put my kids first i have no other choice than to take it. I get housing benefit at the moment but because i dont have child benefit for my daughter then im only entitled to a 2 bedroomed place, and as i have shared a room with my daughter for the past 2years i dont think i can carry on with it!!! I went to the job centre to see about help they just gave my phone numbers but none of them put me to the right place!!! I just wish i could run away and hid like i used to do with i was in trouble when i was young

you should make an appointment to see a benefit specialist at your local citizens advice or to welfare rights in your area.

they can do a benefits health check to make sure you are claiming all you are intitled to.

best of luck, chris x
