Hello - I just came across the site by chance, looking for some help, inspiration or just someone who know's what this feels like. My husband left last year after an affair with a "friend" of mine, one of several I would think but just the one I caught him out in. At first things were going to be amicable, I guess maybe they often start that way, we reached a verbal agreement of a one-off payment and each going our own ways. But as time's gone on he's decided to see how much he can grab. He retracted his own offer, which I still have a copy of on text. The thing is, I have a business and property that I'd had for years before I met him and now he's trying to claim half of it, together with half the house that I live in. I could stand to lose so much - the stress is driving me insane!!

Apart from all the financial distress the emotional worry is just hateful, I don't know how much longer I can cope with this. I have my grown-up children and even my stepchildren (his) they are all wonderful and so supportive, but I just feel really alone?

Hello

I know how you feel. My husband wanted everything to be amicable and then turned horrid once things didnt go his way and has become a complete stranger and I really dont recognise him anymore.
I cant comment on your finanical stuff but you have found a great site that am sure will help you no end with emotional support and advice regarding where you stand. To get the best idea I think you need to post in financial forum this link will give you guidance of what info to put

www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Divorce-Forum/...G-IN-THIS-FORUM.html

I hope that will be of help to you. Also Ive found if Im a bit down and feeling a bit at a loose end then chat on here is quite good. Most people know how you are feeling and therefore you dont feel like you are on your own so to speak.

I definately have benefited no end from this site even if just for my own sanity sake.
take care
