I have a dear friend. We grew up together as war orphans, on leaving the orphanage at age sixteen, she fell pregnant, frightened of the Social Welfare she married a bully-boy, he was cruel and spiteful, but her Christian beliefs kept her in the marraige for 28 years until his demise, ten years ago. As a nurse she went to the Middle East, worked day and night and managed to buy two flats, one as an investment for her old age. Five years ago she met a man on the internet, fell hopelessly in love, married him and within a year of their marriage he had all her investments in joint names and with his foolish business ventures accumilated debt of £38.000.00 all in her name. He now wants a divorce, she has nothing left, sixty years old and has to work two jobs in order to pay this debt. He walks away taking no responsibility, has no job or intends to get one. She is not his first victim. Is there any thing she can do?
Thanking you
Junemarie.

Hi Junemarie

That is a very sad story but unfortunately as she put everything into joint names I think there is very little that she can do because if he has spent all the money and ran up all these debts she wont be able to get any thing out of him.

I am so sorry for your friend :(
