Just wanted to say hello to you all. I am just getting to grips with all of this and have loads to chat about. My husband, a police officer, has told me he wants a divorce. I have been shocked, upset and panicked at first, but am slowly getting to a place where I can start to work it all out somehow. Once I have been able to read through a few bits, I expect i will have loads of questions:unsure: Just so relieved to have found such an informative site as this.

Saluki....Sorry you have to be here.

Someone usually is able to answer any questions you have.

My advice to you would be to get a solicitor that is au fait with police pensions. If you are a member of the police force (either civillian or officer) then use a Police Federation solicitor as they deal with police pensions and divorces all the time and will know if you are being short changed.
They will also be able to get you a fair settlement.

Welcome to the club none of wants to join :( XX

Thanks for the advice...... my head had not thought about that as yet. I would not have access to a Police Federation solicitor. Think he does not want to go that route either as he is trying to lay low at the moment.

You are so right none of us want to join the club, but I for one am sure glad I am here now X
