as a woman getting divorced after 35 years due to my husbands adultery whilst working abroad. He even brought her over and she lived here until her visa ran out.
I am faced with very difficult situation, he doesn't recognise his guilt and seems to have lost his marbles. He is in receipt of his final salary pension and a hefty lump sum. But as his pension is now his income , at 58 he still thinks he will get senior management job and in the meantime feels he should not have to share his pension which is his income. I worked freelance around bringing up my children until 5 years ago when I went full time and he thinks if I get 1/2 his pension he should get 1/2 my salary! My company pension is negligble as I have only paid in for 4and a half yrs.
Does any one know if he could be eligible for income equalisation as his solicitor has advised. Mine says not but now worriedwhich solicitor is correct.:(

welcome to wiki.

Not a pensions expert but wiki does have those ... :) . However, I think he wd do well to remember it works both ways ... you have very little pension and he does - so when you retire you would be the one wanting an equal income!

The financial settlement is based on lots of factors - it is all in section 25 of the 1973 Matrimonial Causes Act. If you have a look under property and mortgages, there is a post there called "read this before posting" - if you can give us the info we need as set out there we can give you better guidance.
