Hi,
I have read the posts/blogs on this site for over a year whilst my own divorce has rumbled on. It bagan in November 2007. Married for 16 years with 2 children under the age of 12 my husband rekindled a relationship with a childhood sweetheart courtesy of the internet and you can guess the rest. I can empathise and relate to what people are going through and promised myself I would offer support to others once my angst was over. Residency of our children will be finally determined in October 09, the financial split is yet to be finalised (we have been at the Nisi stage since December 2008), and my husband has continued to behave appallingly in an attempt to break my will and spirit. My fight is not over.

During this time I have been down but not out. I can smile occasionally at happy times remembered and do not regret my marriage. I have come to accept the path my life has taken and used the space to rediscover who I am.

To those who are at the beginning of this journey the truth is you will feel pain for as long as you need to. There are more downs than ups. You will soul search and look for answers where there are none and bore yourself and others going over the same ground again and again and again. Its normal and all part of healing.
Your life will get better and you can and will get through this - it just takes time.

Hallo Goldenwings

and thanks for your positive message.

I went through months of pain when my ex left (we haven't started divorce yet).

But now I am feeling happier than I have done for years, much less stressed and more confident.

I hope all goes as smoothly as possible for you.

Best wishes

nell
