Hi,i am just in the middle of seperation from my husband after 18 yrs,he is an alcoholic and has chosen this over his family,i have given him many chances to change but this is not happening. He will not move out and even if he did i could not afford outgoings,so i have decided to walk away with my children and move into rented accomadation, everything is such a mess he maybe going bankrupt and the equity in the house will be very little,i feel scared about being on my own,i can barely get out of bed each morning and everything seems black.I have my own business with friend of mine, but cannot put my mind to this at the moment,it would be nice to speak to someone that has gone through similar and tell me there is light at the end of all this!!

Hallo Dee

Yes of course life will get better!

It's scary at the moment because the future is unknown - but then the future is always unknown, its just that we have an idea what it will be like when we are with someone.

You have bravely taken the step to end your marriage. Have you taken advice about moving out? I don't know how easy it would be to get an order to have your husband removed.

You can get a free half hour from many solicitors. You can also find out online about benefits entitlement.

Pop into chat for instant support and to talk to people who have been there and done it as well as those who are going through it.

Hi,thanks for that, yes i have taken advice about moving out, financially i could not afford to stay here,i could not pay the morgage and on top of that we have a loan, plus all the bills, the council have agreed to us moving into rented because of the circumstances.I would then need to force the sale of the house,i have also sorted out benefit entitlements and could just about manage if i was in rented,i will take your advice and join chat room,it will do me good to talk with people who have come out the other end, many thanks.
