Hi, found this site after reading an article in the times today, & it was just at the right time!

My husband of 14 years has left & wants a divorce, after nagging me i have signed the papers to get things rolling, feel lost, don't know what to do, but at least we only have the cat to fight over!

Thanks
MrsUnhappy

welcome to wiki Mrs unhappy you'll find lots of support here, there's a guide to divorce here . You'll find a lot of information in the library and if you have a specific question then start a new thread (just like you did with this post) in the forums . For more immediate support give chat a visit I'm sure you'll find the crowd in there helpful and supportive, I may even make you a cuppa.

((hugs for you))

Your story is almost identical to mine, except we have a dog and a cat to fight over.

This place has stopped me from going mad and everytime I thought I was going to drown in my own tears, someone on wiki has come along and thrown me a life line.

You will make a lot of friends on here, and the support (both emotional and advisory) is fantastic.

Remember to be gentle with yourself and just keep posting, either here or the blogs, or pop into chat, everyone will welcome you.

Take care

Kimmi

Thank you both,

Think I'm still a bit shellshocked, he only left last week, now i have signed the papers already, seems way too quick, having trouble taking it all in, while worrying that i am somehow being duped into signing my life away.

Sorry, don't know what else to say, but thanks,

xx

Signing the divorce papers at the moment may seem like signing your life away, but as long as you don't sign anything else without showing a solicitor, you should be fine.

My new motto where my soon to be ex husband is concerned is "IF IN DOUBT, DON'T SIGN IT"

If you need legal advice, you can post here on the forum, or try the legal surgery that's held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Someone is always around if you need help.
