Hi, folks, I'm new to this site and unfortunately this game. I'm 50, my wife and myself have agreed to seperate, we have two children aged 6 and 9 and to be honest it's doing my head in just thinking about not having them with me all the time. Our seperation is complicated by the fact that my wife has had a drink problem which although she no longer attends a clinic and makes out she doesn't drink, is still very capable of consuming a bottle or more of wine a night. We also have to do the house up to sell etc but how do I get round the fact of her drinking if she tells laywers etc she no longer drinks? She is laso recovering from depression. Obviously I need to start getting my head round such things for when we do seperate, I couldn't imagine being granted custody of the children but I do fear for their safety, any initial thoughts would be welcome, thanks:)

Hello, Welcome to Wiki :). Sorry you need us, but great you found us.

Why do you think you would not be granted residence of the children? Do you work? Are you their primary carer?
