Hi,

I am a 49 year old woman and my husband and I have just decided to separate after 27 years together. It's fairly amicable at the moment, the decision is pretty mutual, we've just come to the end of the road and both want to start again before it's too late.

I have a 16 year old son who is about to start A levels after the summer, and he will be staying with me.

Neither of us can afford to stay on in the family home and both need our share of the equity to fund our new lives, so the house is about to go on the market.

I feel it's going to be a tough few months, as we are both staying in the house until it's sold and in the meantime I have to find somewhere to rent for myself, my son and our small dog, who I can't bear the thought of parting with.

I have lots of questions, so I may pop up on several different forums and I'm hoping that this support will help me and hopefully I can help others if possible.

Thanks.
