I have never gone onto a forum before but after reading a couple of posts I realised we all have something to share and learn from others.
After being married 5 and a half year (I have to get the extra few months in to make it seem longer) but we were together 8 years we split up 3 weeks ago. I could go on forever about the whys and wherefores but my main issue was have I done the right thing? We could have carried on pretending everything was good and my husband seemed to think it was although i dont know if he truly did but i knew it wasnt and it was affecting us all including my 9 year old son. I put it off for as long as i could but realised i had to make the break, for better or worse. For the last few weeks i have felt so guilty but I think I am slowly starting to realise i did the right thing.
Only now I am stuck in a town with no family and no one to talk to but I know I can make a future for me and my son.
Anyway thats me for now. Please reply and tell me im not mad and that its not all lonely being a single parent.
Thanks S

Of course you aren't mad.

You've taken the first step to improve your life, that's sane not mad.

There are people here to support you -pop into chat sometime - and there are lots of groups for single parents too.

Nell
