Weve been married for almost 4 years. Due to very sad circumstances we are getting divorced. Its all amicable as neither of us wants to hurt the other.
We want this to go through as quiclky and as smoothly as possible.

we have a joint mortgage but my husband doesnt want anything from the house - the deposit was mine so of course Im happy with that.

What do we put as a reason for getting divorced to facilitate it going through quickly?

There is also a spanner in the works which is I am being made bankrupt. I have sorted out a way to keep the house. What though do I need to do re paperwork /deeds etc I havent a clue

Of course despite all of the amicableness (??!!) I am deeply upset about he whole thing as is my husband. Hes no longer in the house and has returned to live with his brother for now,

I have also now got a chronic illness and have had to stop working hence debts hence bankruptcy blah blah so all rubbish and pants really

hope someone can give me some advice re reason for divorce and what to do re house

many thanks

Hi there and welcome!

I don't know the answer re the house (I'm sure someone else will tho). A relative is paying off my mortgage and I am paying him back with a private arrangement. He is taking a charge over the property and I know there is some sort of conveyancing needed (I don't even know what that means!!) to transfer it to me.

Re the divorce, if that's what you definitely want to do then I would suggest using "unreasonable behaviour" and try to think up some conversations or incidents that have led you to this breakdown. So long as you can both agree on the wording of the petition, it is only just words.

Is there a local Solicitor you could see for a free 30 mins session?
