Hello everyone, I look forward to reading, contributing and learning from this site over the next few months; no doubt I will very quickly become addicted and wonder how I managed without you before!
I have been trying to separate from my husband for many years as our relationship died along time ago but I have only found the courage recently - I have been telling him for years that we need to split/divorce and he just kept saying yeah, soon - I'm not ready etc...as you can imagine living with this kind of negative relationship has not been easy for me or my lovely daughters aged 10,14 and nearly 16.
We have lived in France for nearly 5 years; I say we but for most of the time I have been alone and I have built a life for myself and my children whereas my husband commuted back and forth from the UK and has never integrated and never really wanted to as he is very anti-social.
At the beginning of July he went back to UK and I told him don't come back because I am so much happier when he's not around. He came back a couple of weeks ago but left after 5 hours because I refused to sleep with him.
Our separation is complicated because of our status - I am fully integrated into french society as are my children but he has remained a UK tax payer and has no status here. Since he left he has left our finances in a complete mess and says he we only come back and sort things out if I agree to living with hi as his wife for up to a year, if not I am on my own and will very quickly lose my home and become financially ruined.
There is of course loads more but we'll save that for another day! Looking forward to making friends on here, and thank you for reading my post!

Welcome to wiki and you will make lots of friends on here, hopefully someone will be along to give you some advice as it does sound complicated.

Pop into chat if you havent done so already as you may find that helpful.

Take care
