Hello - I'm very new here, and hurting very much at the moment.

My wife of 29 years has had a year long affair and is threatening to walk out on me. I can forgive as I love her and also don't want to lose everything we've built up over this time. Also, I've just come into my inheritance, and she could walk away with half of it (I assume). Her inheritance will come one day, and I'll have no claim to this.
Can anyone suggest what options I have. Do I have to agree to a divorce, or how long a period do I have to spin this out. I've read somewhere it's 2 years, but then, I've also read it could be 5 years. PLEASE can anyone help. This is a nightmare to me, my whole life and dreams for the future possibly shattered forever!

Thanks

so so sorry to hear of troubles, as one who has put up with a husband who is not sure what he wants the family or the mistress, I can sympathise, its like living a daily nightmare, not knowing. There are pleny of othe wikipeeps who will be able to tell you about divorce proceedings, Im not sure, I do know that you will get a lot of support here so keep posting, everyone is here to help, look after yourself, regards ausgirl.
