hi i wonder if anyone can help out there. i am a friend of someone who is now divorced. She has a house in spain which is in joint names with her ex pjc electricals he has not paid anything of the mortgage for many months now. the spanish bank have told her the house will be re-possessed after the third non payment. i have 'loaned' her £5000 now in payments to prevent the house being re-possessed. he refuses to answer her calls, the bank are not interested in contacting him, and his last view was that 'it could go back to the bank' but will not sign it over as he believes it is worth more than she says. the bank will sell it for what is owed on it which is 85,000 but property in spain is selling for nothing as so many are up the creek. what should she do ....... it was her money that bought the house in the first place from property investments - he brought nothing to the marriage financially.

help...... i cannot lend any more money as i have taken out a loan to lend her the money as it is and he may benefit.... may he..... ?? help:( :(

she should be taking positive steps to sell it on the open market. she can ask the bank to give her time to try and sell it but if she cant afford the mortgage payments something has to be done. if she gets it valued her ex cant argue with this and he will lose everything any way if he doesnt pay mortgage and its reposessed.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RESPOND.I THINK THERE IS AN ELEMENT OF VINDICTIVENESS. HE SAYS ITS WORTH MORE BUT HAS NOT HAD VALUATION. HE WILL NOT PAY ANYTHING BUT WILL NOT SIGN IT OVER...
