hi, i know a friend who is on student visa. i want to help her get a visa in uk, can i make her my dependant on my visa and later divorce. please advice .

if you don't want to marry and then divorce her why not ask some people on this site?
we all love going through divorce thats why we're here.the only problem is we haven't got any money left.

Yes, you can marry and divorce her so she gets a visa to stay here.

It is also a criminal offence to do so.

She can also claim maintenance from you on divorce. Or kick you out of your house beforehand. Freeze your assets. And so on .... She can also come back years later to claim on your wealth.

You still want to do it? Go and see a psychiatrist then. People are scared off a genuine marriage, let alone a sham one.

As you can see from the responses, your question is not addressing an issue from a genuine failed relationship.

Also, as pointed out above, what you suggest would contravene the immigration laws in the UK.
