Hi all,

Never been on any forums before so here goes. I split with my husband of seven years very recently [ the 13th oct] to be exact.
He decided that he does not love me anymore and has not done for the last two years, but omitted to let me know. The actual separation came completely out of the blue.I had came home from work and as usual started to make the evening meal, he came in and almost immediately started an arguement with me , he basically left - later in the evening i discovered he had emptied the wardrobe etc , i was totally devastated my life was falling apart in front of me. We have a six year old little boy who is with me . Anyway thought i would give an overview of my situation.

welcome to wiki. you've definitely come to the right place for support. It has been invaluable to me. Wish I'd found it right at the beginning, I didn't register till bout 3 months down the line. It's been nearly five months for me and just popping into chat or offering support to others going through similar situations feels that I'm being useful. You're still going to be in shock at the moment and asking the same questions over and over again. Don't worry, you're not going mad, it's all part of this horrible process but you will get through it.

Please feel free to send personal message to me if you need to. We're all here to offer support.

Take care

Lonely x

Hi there and welcome. I am sorry about what is happening to you. Well done for seeking some support straightaway. There is plenty of it on this site.

You must still be reeling from the shock of it all. Please try to be gentle with yourself and do all you can to look after yourself and your son. Make sure you eat well, get some exercise and try to sleep.

I found keeping a journal very helpful. It let me dump all the thoughts and feelings I was having in a safe place. This helped give me some perspective on things. Over time, when I looked back at earlier entries, I couldn't believe I'd written them!

The coming weeks will probably feel like a rollercoaster - up one minute, down the next. Please take whatever time you need to get to grips with what's happened. Don't be rushed into making any decisions. Insist that you need some time to work things out. Take that time and only when you are feeling a little stronger, should you start thinking about the future.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on. Take care, Bon

things will get better nossinuke - you are definately in the right place for help and support here! Wiki saved my marbles and 4 months down the line with the comfort and help from wiki peeps I am begining to really see thru the tears again! As someone told me when I signed up "babysteps... take everything in babysteps and look after yourself" Sounds like your oh had been planning his departure for a while the speed with which he moved? Thats the trouble - my oh had been planning his escape for years too and was and is so emotionally detatched from me and our kids he is almost a stranger. The pain does get better very slowly though and when it really gets you down come onto Wiki there is always someone here to help and comfort you. Good luck,

Jo xx

Thank you all for kind entries, you are all right iam in shock - he is totally emotionally detatched and tells me to move on and get help. He seems to be a different man - not the loving, caring man i married.
I have never ever felt pain like this and hope it starts to lesson soon .

Thanks to you all for your kind words at a very difficult, painful time
