Dont think theres any underhanded dealings going on here peeps....

CHECK OUT PAULS WEBPAGE

Which is why I never take advice off people on here. I don't mean the wiki members - I mean the professionals.

Sorry but you get owt for owt and I just would rather trust someone who I can check out properly.

I've taken your advice and looked at Paul's website Angel1 - as always I'm looking up the credentials as far as I can- my point is I have no way of independently verifying who is a Resolution accredited DIFA.
This is not to question his credentials or his reputation.
All the representatives of this new DIFA breed posting on wikivorce have been a revelation.
If only I could have found one of these highly evolved IFAs for my divorce - I want them to flourish - I don't want people to have to rely on a solicitor to find one.
I've tried searching for a divorce/Resolution IFA on the IFA pro.body website and the Resolution website - from them you wouldn't know Divorce IFAs existed.
I would want my DIFA to be entirely independent of my solicitor - if I still needed a solicitor that is.

I do agree that there should be an easy way to verify our credentials, but sadly there isn't one at the moment

The list of Resolution Accredited IFA's on the Resolution website is only available to members, as the original intention behind the accreditation was to offer members a list of IFAs whom they could refer to with confidence, knowing that each one had an understanding of family law and the process.

The scheme is evolving, with some recent changes making it more robust, but I'm not sure if the list will ever be freely available.

There are very few accredited IFAs at present, I think 107.

My accreditation certificate is available to anyone to wants to see it.
