Hi,
My wife decided we had no future a month ago and I've just found out that she was having an affair with an ex-boyfriend before we split up. We can't afford two houses and I can't accept them seeing each other, especially while I'm paying for it all. The kids are now starting to notice something is up as Dad is an emotional wreck but won't tell them why. Can life get any worse, doesn't seem so from here. I'd appreciate any advice to keep it together ...
Thanks

Hi Supers
Welcome to Wiki - I am sure, like me, you will find the help, advice, information and support on here a lifeline.

The best advice I can give on "keeping it together" is to take each day as it comes. There will be bad days, better days and good days, I enjoy the good and better days and try to deal with the bad ones. It isnt easy, and the differing emotions you will go through will at times will make u feel like you are on a rollercoaster. But there is light there at the end of the tunnel, talk to others who have come through the other side, and they will confirm this. How long will it take? It is different for everyone, there is no given timeline.

Children are far more perceptive than we as adults give them credit for, and will be aware of the changed atmopshere at home. They are also a lot stronger that we adults realise, and deserve honesty (although they dont need to know all the details).

Life isnt all doom and gloom, there are so many good things in our lives that we sometimes fail to see because all we can see and think about are the negatives. I try to find at least one good thing in each day - and it helps.

Take Care, and let us know how u are.

Ruby
