"I know that she went to college in her area last year (info from other people)"

This appears to be the most recent information, so you go back to these 'other people' and you ask them to help you.

People like to help.

Ask them if they might know someone who might know someone who might know her. Ask them to make phone calls for you. Ask them to ask around for you. Ask for names of friends.Ask the college if they will help you. Give your phone number and address out to as many people as you can who might help. Have you looked on Friends reunited website ? This is a brilliant site. You can look up her schools and colleges. If she's on it you can contact her via them.

It won't be easy or quick but you should have a go !

Good luck !
