I am not religious, just believe in karma. Below are the seven dealy sins in a human context. I realised that my ex wife held 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7. It helped me to think about the person i was in fact with.

(1) Lust (Latin, luxuria)
(2) Gluttony (Latin, gula)
(3) Greed (Latin, avaritia)
(4) Sloth (Latin, acedia)
(5) Wrath (Latin, ira)
(6) Envy (Latin, invidia)
(7) Pride (Latin, superbia)

In the future, look for any of these flaws in a person. Decide which are most important to you, and stay away from that person. Try to rid yourself of these flaws.

Remember: A person who is nice to you, but not nice to the waiter, is not a nice person.

Most importantly: Mean people suck!

Now go forth and conquer!

:) Good advice DIY-er! ...and nothing like a bit of wisdom with my first Sunday morning coffee....

...just adding though: a word from dear Oprah:

Remember; your ex was noth hatched in hell to make your life a misery".

(I just love those little Oprah nuggets of physco-babble!) ;)

And for anyone not comforted by that, just remember; despite their flaws, we CHOSE to be with our spouses, and for each day we spent married; we CHOSE to stay in that marriage.

Right, I'm off to conquer!

Completely agreed, and to be perfectly honest, i am certain my ex would find 14 of the 7 directly applicable to me:huh:

Thanks for that DIY

Yes he had 1,3 and 6 and believe me I developed 5.
But I find I'm loosing my wrath it was a temporary blip to cope with the desperation.
I also believe that if your a good person you will be good to everyone. It is definitely the one thing I will look for in the future. I also found out my fabulous friends and colleagues were as I always thought the nicest of people.

There's going to be lots of conquering going on today.
