Hi,

I registered last week and am going through a very nasty divorce.
I have suffered mental and verbal abuse and the last straw was being given an ultimatum, I had to agree I was evil and had no friends and that I had to give him more attention or he would leave me that night. I was told that I had to tell him who I had spoken to during the day, copy him in on any emails, all telephone calls. He kept coming into my office and asking what my decision was with a smirk on his face. I found the courage to stand up to him and told him it was over. I found that I had lost contact with my family as I was not allowed to see them. I realized it had been eleven years since I had seen my niece and nephew.
I had weeks of tears and promises and then the threats of suicide. He was dating six weeks later.
I was made to go to relate and was told by the counselor she was afraid for my safety this was in front of him, she told him he needs to go to anger management, he and the Dutches (mother in law) made an appointment at my doctors for me to go on anti depressants, which I never did. He said he was angry with the doctor because I refused.
I have just seen my barrister. I left a 24 year relationship/marriage. no children. I have been told that because my x2b and I are tenants in common I can charge him rent as he is enjoying our home to the full. I had to leave quickly with anything I could get in my car. I am divorcing him for unreasonable behavior. My solicitors did a search on my companies and found that he has falsified information to companies house. My accountant called me to an emergency secret meeting regarding his suspicious conduct the day before the dated document. I have been told there will be three court cases for the divorce. So I presume the evil Dutches (mother in law) and the rest of his family will be there. I describe myself as captive bred, I was never allowed out or money. I was the one who started the business's and worked all the hours god sent. Even Xmas days from 2am till 1pm. Because he moved in with me when I was eighteen and we eventually bought the property I have been told this will make a significant difference in the settlement. My barrister is going to try for 3/4 of the estate. This will upset the x2b greatly. He has been selling off assets. I have asked for forensic investigators to go in as he is refusing me any paperwork for the business's. I have no idea what is going on. this has been going on since September last. I am the major shareholder of one of the companies.
But the most important thing I have received from his solicitors to date is:
"Please ask your client to transfer the television license into my clients name".

Obviously he wants custody of the television !!!!!!

Hi Rose

Although the market is slow, you solicitor should put caution on the register. This means he cannot sell the house without your consent, so you buy yourself some breathing space.

The first consideration in this will be housing you and the children, and he is going to have to start facing that.

Secondly, the relevant period for your marriage from your cohabitation going forward, so it is not as short as he would like to think.

Carry on trying to talk it through, but have some advice in the background.
