Looks like I may be going for a divorce soon. Have been separated for nearly 3 years, and married for 20.
I am a 53 year old man. The marraige was never good and I regard myself as being emotionally abused by my wife, I seemed to gradually lose my sense of self.
Hope to move out of my flat and start affresh in a house of my own.

Elephant & Castle,

Best wishes for the future, and hopefully finding your way to some peace.

The divorce process is certainly challenging, as you will see from the many diferent threads around wiki, but if your vision is to have a Clean Break and regain control of your life and emotions, then it's probably best to move it on. (It's a big decision, it took me 12 months of separation to decide).

Do you have kids, are you still seeing them?

Good luck, Kalamari

Hi Kalamari,
No we never had kids.
Well I have been separated almost 3 years and still in two minds about the divorce - but now its feeling like the best step. However I am not sure she would agree under 2 years separation.
